Something for you, Something for myself...

Well, The new year arrived. The same as all those years I have left behind.
Last year was full of ups and downs but it all began as of my return. I was back to my country where I thought that I belong to. But, to be honest, it was the begining of a big change. I was like a fish stuck in a small tank with water getting dark and dark day by day.
First days were really shocking. Is this my land? Why nobody understands me? Maybe I'm the big problem? I mean myself.
Then I started to revitallize; to save myself. To get the best of the society. To see the positive points. And to adjust myself.

Yes. It was difficult. It left no time for thinking. I had to put all my efforts on better understanding of the society where I belong to. I'm saying difficult and I really mean it. Sometimes on the earth, sometimes in the sky. Sometimes satisfied and sometimes mad.

Now, all I see is not more than what I believed in earlier. It is all about people and their culture. They are really strange; and they treat you as a stranger.

And for the new year, I'm planning to leave them their belongings. But I can not leave them unaware and illiterate. So maybe the best way is to help this destroyed culture from outside. To charge them with all those things they have lost, and to save them from the world they are lost in.

And just to congratulate you on the occasion of the new year, I brought this (unknown source):

##########
May peace fill all the empty spaces around you
And in you, may contentment answer all your wishes.

May comfort be yours, warm and soft like a sigh.
And may the coming yearshow you that every day is really a first day,a new year.

Let abundance be your constant companion,
so that you have much to share.

May mirth be near you always,
like a lamp shining brightly
on the many paths you travel.

May you be true love.

  • Hi Cyrus

That was interesting. Do you have any solution to wake up this people?

I agree with you that the new generation is lost. They are lost because the society is full of conflicts. They are lost because they have never been taught to think freely.

However, the majority of population is young and challenge and divergence is a strong characteristic of this young society. If you talk to them, they may resist first but later they will think about what you said.

I think to impact the majority of this young people in the most efficient way, we need an extensive media like TV to talk openly about different subjects. And this is a big problem as we don’t have the tools to do any thing. Any idea?

  • Cyrus -- I haven't checked on you lately, but I see that you are now back in Iran. I hear your discontent. I'd be most interested to read/discuss some of the more concrete things that you see/hear that make you so unhappy.

And lovely poem. Words to live by....
