Hiroshima

We went to Hiroshima yesterday to visit the peace park and museum.

This was my first visit to the beautiful city of Hiroshima. And I've visited Nagasaki three or four times. There you can find many things including pictures of the city before and after the A-bombings, ruins of the buildings, clothing and many many items affected. There are also lots of pics of the people burned, radiated, gone with pushing a button. Letters of those politicians and scientists (including Albert Einstein) who endorsed the letter giving the right of application of the newly-developed bombs to the president.

And the feeling; You got to be there to feel it yourself. To see how a stupid decision makes a big change in just a few seconds. Everything was burned in a circle of 1.5 km radius. Things were completely destroyed in several kilometers and many more were affected in distant places.

And there were pics of a kid who suffered from radiation for 10 years and died. She spent her life to make birds out of paper as symbol of the peace. You got to see her, sleeping calm in her coffin...
